Here are notes on updates not yet incorporated into My Materials

Lesson 5 - GeoGebra 3.2 now has many levels of freedom in creating points and each of them are "tied" to objects now in different ways. I have not yet worked out how to explain this :)

For example:

  • Inputting "A=(0,0)" in the Input Bar gives you a free object and you can click and drag this point anywhere. It is a dark-blue color.
  • Using the New Point tool and clicking on (0,0) gives you the fixed point B=Intersect[xAxis,yAxis] and you cannot move it with the mouse. It is black.
  • Using the New Point tool and clicking on the x-axis gives you a semi-fixed point C=Point[xAxis]. You can click and drag it only along the x-axis. It is a light-blue color.
Thanks to Nicholas Bennett for pointing this out!

Linear Inequalities: There is a problem using the 2nd and 3rd activities of the "school" version which calls the webstart version of GeoGebra. Should be fixed by December 2009. Meanwhile, use online or offline versions.
